What Arrives
Inside a cream linen envelope, sealed with beeswax — your animal's portrait, painted by hand. Archival cotton paper that will outlast your grief. A gold-leaf halo above their head, because that's where they are now.

I sobbed for twenty minutes when I opened it. You painted him exactly as I remembered — that little grey patch above his left eye. Thank you for giving me something to hold.
— Margot L.
for Finnegan, Irish Setter
My daughter's cat passed while she was at college. I had this made and mailed it to her dorm. She called me crying happy tears. This is the most meaningful gift I've ever given.
— Diane & Clara H.
for Waffles, orange tabby
Fourteen years. I didn't know how to explain to my kids where Biscuit went. Now we have something beautiful on the wall to point to. He's just across the garden.

The Workshop
Every memorial is painted from scratch. I study your photo until I can feel the weight of their ears, the particular angle they held their head. The fur goes down in layers — first the shadow wash, then the midtones, then the individual hairs in a fine botanical pen. The halo is applied last, with real gold leaf, pressed gently with a fingertip.
I work from a small studio in Vermont, surrounded by plants and the occasional borrowed dog.
